The inspiration for the reupholstery of this Parker Knoll chair, originally upholstered in 1985 in a muted brown 100% acrylic draylon  fabric came from a desire to challenge the assumption that this Parker Knoll chair can't have a BIG personality. This little chair can now hold it’s own in any contemporary interior.

  • The chair was labeled as manufactured and upholstered on the 11th January 1985 This is a complex chair to reupholster if the slim profile and minimal padding in the arms is to be maintained yet create a comfortable and recognizable Parker Knoll chair. To that end I have reinserted the manufacturers original label on the pad under the cushion as I regard this as a modern restoration and not an upcycling project. The original manufacturers label will be included with the chair. The top fabric was from Kobe BV(Netherlands) Range: Malawi 5 (velvet pile, directional)

    • Composition: Polyester 60%, Viscose 40%

    • Martindale: 50,000

    • Colour fastness Class 5-6
