The inspiration for the reupholstery of this Parker Knoll chair, originally upholstered in 1985 in a muted brown 100% acrylic draylon fabric came from a desire to challenge the assumption that this Parker Knoll chair can't have a BIG personality. This little chair can now hold it’s own in any contemporary interior.
Zebra Parker Knoll ‘Foxfield’ Fireside Chair
The chair was labeled as manufactured and upholstered on the 11th January 1985 This is a complex chair to reupholster if the slim profile and minimal padding in the arms is to be maintained yet create a comfortable and recognizable Parker Knoll chair. To that end I have reinserted the manufacturers original label on the pad under the cushion as I regard this as a modern restoration and not an upcycling project. The original manufacturers label will be included with the chair. The top fabric was from Kobe BV(Netherlands) Range: Malawi 5 (velvet pile, directional)
Composition: Polyester 60%, Viscose 40%
Colour fastness Class 5-6
